On September 16-18, 2017, the Brookings Institution, in conjunction with the State of Qatar, will convene the 13th annual U.S.-Islamic World Forum. The theme of this year’s Forum is “Crisis and Cooperation.”
The Forum’s plenary sessions will explore major developments, transitions, and crises affecting our world. Topics include:
-Ending civil wars in the Middle East and North Africa region and rebuilding afterwards
-The future of pluralism, citizenship, and religion in the Middle East
-Refugees and cities, and the global response
-Counterterrorism
The Forum will also convene working groups which will focus on current issues confronting the Islamic world. Group topics include:
-The future of pluralism in the Arab world
-Refugees and cities
-Stabilization and reconstruction
