Joint mechanism unveiled to bolster cooperation

A joint mechanism between the Islamic Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Office for Cooperation among countries of the South in the Arab region was launched yesterday. 

 

This came at a panel discussions on the sidelines of the First Arab States Regional South-South Development Expo being hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the Office of the South-South cooperation of the United Nations.
The planning mechanism is designed for effective cooperation among countries of the South.

 

The mechanism aims at providing practical information and easy to use for government agencies that represent the focal points for the purpose of cooperation among countries of the South, in addition to agencies, funds and programmes of the United Nations operating in the region, which seek to achieve cooperation among countries in line with those reported in the final document of the UN Conference on South-South Cooperation in Nairobi in 2009.
