First Arab states regional expo begins

OVER 400 delegates from 45 countries are participating in the first Arab States Regional South-South Development Expo which began on Tuesday.

The three-day Expo is being hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the Office of the South-South cooperation of the UN.

 

The opening ceremony at Doha Sheraton Hotel was attended by Minister of Development Planning and Statistics HE Saleh bin Mohamed al Nabit, Assistant Foreign Minister of International Cooperation Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al Thani and a number of other officials and representatives of institutions that promote cooperation agenda among the countries of the south.

 

The exhibition aims to provide a platform for finding collaborative solutions and exchange expertise among countries of the south. This event is also an opportunity to review more successful development solutions and innovations by the Arab region and other southern countries and provide typical examples that illustrate the effectiveness of the current experiments.

 

In a statement released earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah said that Qatar was committed to the South-South development expo as a main hub of strengthening regional ties with the Southern hemisphere countries.
