Qatar-UK Business and Investment Forum held over the past two days in London and Birmingham has resonated widely in British political and economic circles.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr Catherine Raines, Undersecretary of the British Ministry of International Trade, confirmed the success of the Forum in consolidating the distinguished economic and trade relations between Qatar and the United Kingdom.

Qatar will invest £5 billion in Britain within five years in a boost for the post-Brexit economy, Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani announced Monday.


"Over the next three to five years Qatar will invest £5 billion ($6.23 billion, 5.8 billion Euros) in the UK economy through various investment funds and relevant parties in Qatar – which will constitute another addition to its already successful investments in the UK", he said at the Qatar-UK Business and Investment Forum in London.

The Qatar-UK Business and Investment Forum is set to get underway on Monday as the UK seeks new investment deals in preparation for Brexit.

Theresa May’s ambitions to create a "global Britain" after Brexit have been boosted by Qatar’s announcement that it expects to invest £5bn in the UK over the next five years.

The "Qatar-UK Business and Investment Forum", which will be held in London and Birmingham, will further boost bilateral relations between the two countries. The two-day forum, that will start tomorrow, will offer opportunity to inject more Qatari investments into Britain, particularly Birmingham.
