The Organizing Committee of the High Tech port by Musiad Qatar - High Level Advanced and Strategic Technology Exhibition and 19TH International Business Forum (IBF)’in, subsequent to the one in Istanbul, at a joint press conference in Sheraton on the 4th of October Qatar and Turley announced that there will be 67 companies participating from the sectors of the defense industry, aerospace, marine systems, IT and engineering. It was also added that, The International Business Forum is expected to have over 1.000 participants not only from Turkey and Qatar but also on an International scale. From the Qatari side, the press Conference was attended by H.E. Abdullah Fakhroo, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Organizing conferences (PCOC), Staff Brigadier Mohammed Khalifa Al Kuwari, Vice chairman of PCOC, Mr. Hassan Al Sayed, Assistant Undersecretary of Government Information, ICT Qatar, in addition to Mr. Sharida Al Kaabi, Board Member, Qatari Businessmen Association. H.E Mr. Fakhroo "We are delighted to work with MUSIAD in the organization of this conference which aims at building bridges between business men in both countries to discuss potential mutual trade and investment and the possibility of advanced technology transfer between both countries". Also staff Brigadier Mohammed Al Kuwari, Committee Vice Chairman has explained that Under the guidance of His Excellency the Minister of Defense, the Qatari armed forces is pleased to participate in the High Tech port Exhibition and 19th International Business Forum (IBF) and stated that "the participation in this exhibition and exhibitions in general is considered one of the pillars of cooperation between the two sides in order to consolidate the techniques that would help promote the military capabilities of both countries and support the creation of military industries and advanced skills to keep up with the developments in the defense field". As mentioned by Mr. Sherid Al Kaabi, QBA Board Member, "The Turkish market is promising and attractive for Qatari businessmen and investors, especially that our efforts to collaborate are encouraged by the governmental support of the leaders of both countries. We see the forum specialization and topic as very interesting and promising. Since technology goes beyond being a new economic sector of the economy like banking, healthcare and certain industries". In this context, Mr. Hassan Al Sayed Assistant Undersecretary of ICT Government Programs said "We are glad to work with our Turkish counterparts to make this forum a success" confirming also "Our leaders appreciate the key role of technology, thus we are giving a high importance to such collaboration in this domain". From the Turkish side, the press conference was attended by Mr Gazi Mısırlı - MÜSİAD Presidential Representative, Mr Ozer Balkız - Secretary General of IBF (International Business Forum) and Mr. Omur Yıldız Managing Director of the High Tech Port Exhibition. MÜSİAD’s Presidential Representative Mr. Gazi Mısırlı said "High Tech Port by MÜSİAD Qatar; has been planned according to the sectors and the business development environment between Turkey and Qatar to produce the most productive grade. High Tech Port by MÜSİAD Qatar; it will be a new beginning of a strong future business cooperation between the two countries. With the business collaborations of the advanced and strategic sectors between Qatar and Turkey, they will make a global power and become historic partners". The comments made in the press conference by Mr Özer Balkız - Secretary General of IBF (International Business Forum) were as follows.
"The IBF congress, with their work done to date, has put forward important goals towards the strengthening of trade and cooperation ties between Muslim nations and have brought to life many projects that contribute to the member states" economic and social development in this respect. The 19th International Business forum, a joint project brought forth by Qatar and Turkey, will have distinguished panel speakers for the fields of ICT and civil aviation. As the main policy of IBF is to establish a global business network among the Muslim businessmen, the current issues of this years IBF, brought together with elaborate detail and valuable speakers, is to show that "we believe it will shed light on the economic development of Muslim Countries". Also, the Managing Director of High Tech Port Exhibition - Mr. Omur Yıldız has explained that "In the arena of defense and advanced technology, High-Tech Port by MUSIAD exhibition will be attended by 67 Turkish companies leading in this field. The Qatar armed forces in conjunction with the brand BMC will be exhibiting 7 different products at this event. With this exhibition we believe that important steps towards strategic cooperation between Qatar and Turkey will be developed. The aim of our cooperation will not just be limited to real estate and construction it will also encompass sustainable business cooperation and development of new market". 19TH International Business Forum (IBF) IBF-International Business Forum, which is attended by 30 countries from around the world, is an international business forum that brings them together annually for business congress and commercial activities. The 19th IBF, Qatari Businessmen Association and MUSIAD have collaborated to create the main theme "Intra-OIC Partnership: Developing Sustainable Cooperation in High-Tech & Defence Industries". The main theme of this giant project opening which will be held at the QNCC on the 6th of October at 11:00 is "The Big Power: Joint Future of Turkey & Qatar". The essence of the theme is the cooperation between Qatar and Turkey in the economic field that was formed many years ago. Therefore with a shared vision, projects such s High-Tech port are brought forward as important steps towards the future. The speeches at the opening ceremony will be performed by President of MUSIAD Mr. Nail OLPAK, Ministry of Defence, State of Qatar H.E. Hamad Bin Ali Al ATTIYAH and the Minister of Defense, Republic of Turkey H.E. Mr. Vecdi GÖNÜL. The 19th IBF Congress opening session, which will be held on Wednesday the 7th of October, will be titled as "Intra-OIC Partnership: Developing Sustainable Cooperation in High-Tech & Defence" and will be carrying the theme of driving economic growth with defence and high-tech innovation. Proceeding the opening ceremony and session there will be a total of 5 sessions held over two days which will focus on the potential of the ICT sector in Qatar, as well as Turkey and Qatar's civil aviation, cyber security and homeland security and details of future cooperation. Located on a panel discussion of the program, topics regarding the importance of trade and investment opportunities between Qatar and Turkey and to ensure the transfer of technology between the two will be touched upon. Qatar, with the implementation of an agenda designed towards advanced technology, whether it be the great potential in the ICT sector, establishing a business in Qatar or the advantages of investing in Qatar, aims to be the preferred destination of investment for Turkey as its closest partner in this field. The strategic advantages of Qatar are also highlighted in this project, especially in terms of energy and labor costs. The development of trade and investment between country members as a priority, the provision of information and technology exchange, Qatar has become a timely and accurate address for the IBF congress aimed at realisation of joint commercial projects and activities. In this project that will have the participation of Turkish companies and institutions, from Qatar there will be participation of; Qatar armed forces, Qatar Ministry of Defense, ICT Qatar Minister, Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar Ministry of Internal Affairs, Qatar Ministry of Transport, Manateq Qatar, Qatar Science and Technology Park and Qatar Airways.
