"Gender Mainstreaming In Public Institutions" is one of the main issues that will be discussed during the 29th Ministerial Council of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), which will held on 13-15 December 2016 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

Held every two years, the Ministerial Session is the governing body of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). Ministers and high-level member State officials from across the region convene to discuss the activities of the Secretariat, its future work programme, and key economic and social development issues facing the region.

The 29th Ministerial Council of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) will be held tomorrow at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Doha.


The three-day event, which will bring together ministers and prominent experts from several countries and will be chaired by the State of Qatar, is to focus on the implementation of the sustainable development plan 2030 and the road map at the national level. It will be concluded with a Doha declaration.
