HH THE EMIR INAUGURATES THE 2ND SOUTH SUMMIT OFG-77& CHINA

IN HIS OPENING ADDRESS , HH THE EMIR SAID THE STATE OF QATAR,
WHICH SINCE ITS INDEPENDENCE JOINED THE GROUP OF 77, SHARES WITH THE G77 MEMBER STATES THE SAME VISION AND ASPIRATIONS.
QATAR HAS WELCOMED HOSTING THIS SUMMIT OUT OF ITS BELIEF IN THE
OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP AND THE NECESSITY OF BEARING THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF MAKING THE JOINT ACTION A SUCCESS.
THERE HAVE BEEN RADICAL CHANGES IN THE WORLD OVER THE PAST YEARS.
INTER-DEPENDENCE AMONG NATIONS HAS INCREASED DUE TO GLOBALIZATION, HH THE EMIR SAID.....

Emir: Second South Summit ended with strategic vision

His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar has underlined in his concluding address to the G77 + China Second South Summit, that it was able through constructive dialogue to arrive at an appropriate strategic vision concerning a number of economic and development matters expected to be taken up at the high level meeting of the UN General Assembly next September.

G-77 + China FMs endorse Doha declaration

Qatar's permanent delegate to the UN and the vice chairman of
the organizing committee of the G-77 and China second summit H.E Nasser Abdulaziz Al-nassr said that the foreign minister of the member states have endorsed the Doha Political Declaration and the work plan that would be presented to the heads of states and governments on Wednesday 15 June for adoption.

Working sessions of the Summit: 52 speakers

Three working sessions took place on Wednesday, on the first day of the Second South Summit which His Highness the Emir of Qatar opened in the morning in the presence of the representatives of the 132 member countries of the Group of 77 and China.

No less than 52 speakers addressed the audience. Among them were the Prime Minister of Jamaica Percival Paterson, the Representative of the UN Secretary General Kofi Anan, and many Arab and international Leaders.
